Our Farm
Farm Program: Hands-On Learning Through Animal Care
The farm sits on 200 acres in Solgohachia, Arkansas, just outside of Morrilton. The property includes a 7-acre pond and a working farm that provides children with unique, hands-on opportunities to learn responsibility, empathy, and the value of hard work through caring for animals and participating in daily farm chores.
Over the years, the farm has been home to a variety of animals—llamas, ducks, chickens, cows, dogs, horses, and more. Currently, the children are preparing to raise rabbits, goats, and lambs as part of their County Fair projects, where they learn dedication, animal husbandry, and the rewards of setting and reaching goals.
Our small animal program includes incubating chicken eggs, grooming goats for show, and raising rabbits. The farm manages over 30 cows, providing year-round educational opportunities and supplies for our commissary.
Horses
Our horses play a key role in both recreation and therapy for our children. They are gentle and well-trained. Ideal horses are:
Child-safe (no buck, bite, or kick)
At least 10 years old (retired roping, cutting, trail riding, or reining horses are welcome)
Between 14 and 14.3 hands tall
Low in herd dominance and easy to pasture with others
Suitable for evaluation and purchase on-site via cash transaction
Donations accepted if the horse meets all criteria; donations are tax-deductible under the Home’s 501(c)(3) status
All horses are cared for by farm staff and used to support therapeutic, educational, and recreational experiences for the children.
